To wrap up Topic 2 and the end of 1st quarter, our 5th grade scientists applied their knowledge of the properties of matter and changes in matter to create their very own mini stepping stones! 🪨💡

District Cross Country in Ogallala was a success for Chase County!
The Longhorn Girls brought home the District C-5 Championship with strong performances from Addison Hauxwell (4th), Alayna Smith (8th), Tessa Smith (9th), and Liz Hanna (15th). Paige Nickless and Zoey Kelly also ran great races to help lead the team to victory!
On the boys’ side, Haven Hauxwell had an outstanding run, placing 6th overall.
The girls team and Haven have earned their spot at the State Cross Country Meet next Friday in Kearney!

Huge thanks to the Imperial Police Department and Sergeant Bustillos for welcoming our JAG students! They had the opportunity to tour the department and get a firsthand look at what a career in law enforcement is really like.
Seniors in Mrs. Zuege's Intro to Visual Arts dual credit class experienced a day of art in McCook today. Rick Johnson, MCC art instructor, spoke to the students about the 158th Annual, American Watercolor Society Exhibit now on display at the MCC campus. Chad Graff, co-founder of the "Art Bank" and the "6th Floor Project," gave a tour of those spaces and showed the "Ethereal Plains" mural in downtown McCook.
